Are you wondering how do you repost a post on Instagram? Let me say that you are in the best place at the right time.
After signing up for Instagram, you have started to post photos and content of various kinds. However, you still have not managed to find the ‘repost’ function to share or repost to your account the most interesting content you have found on this social network. Well, it seems obvious to me: the ‘share’ function does not exist on Instagram!
Unlike Facebook and other social networks, Instagram does not provide for sharing other people’s content, for a very simple reason: it wants to encourage the originality and creativity of its users.
However, it is possible to ‘bypass’ this limitation and obtain a function very similar to the ‘repost’ that you need. Do not believe it? Then look at what I am going to propose to you: in the following paragraphs, I will explain to you how do you repost a post on Instagram story using some ‘tricks’ or through some free apps and how do you repost a company post on Instagram.
If you are looking forward to reposting the most interesting content, take your time, and implement the tips you will come across in the next few minutes.
To avoid problems, contact the user who posted the original post, ask their permission to repost the content in question to your profile and if they agree, mention their username in your repost.
Now sit back and relax because you are about to discover how do you repost a post on your Instagram story.

A first method to answer the question how do you repost a post on Instagram story is to take a screenshot of a post and share it on your profile.
If you are using an Android smartphone, you should be able to take a screenshot by pressing the Volume Down (-) key and the Power key at the same time.
If you cannot take a screenshot with this key combination, try pressing the Volume Down (-) key and the Home key at the same time. For more details on how to take screenshots on Android, read the in-depth article I published on this subject.
If you have an iPhone, you should be able to take a screenshot by pressing the Home button and the standby/active button at the same time.
If you have an iPhone X (or later model), on the other hand, you need to press the right-side button (power) and the volume up button (+) at the same time to take a screenshot. For more details on how to take a screenshot on iOS, read the tutorial I published on the subject.

If the content you want to repost is not a photo, but a video, then instead of taking a screenshot you need to take a video capture of the screen. Continue reading if you are willing to know how do you repost a post on your Instagram story through this method.
To do this on Android, you have to resort to third-party apps, such as ADV Screen Recorder, which allow you to make a screen recording quite easily: just launch the app of your choice, press the button to start recording, authorise screen capture (if necessary) and then stop filming. More info here.
To do this on an iPhone (the feature was introduced in iOS 11), however, bring up the Control Centre by swiping up from the bottom (on iPhone 8/8 Plus and earlier models) or swiping down from the top right corner (on iPhone X and later models) and tap the REC button. Read more here.
Once you have taken a screenshot or video recording of the screen, post it to your Instagram account to repost. Then click on the (+) button at the bottom (centre) and tap on the photo you want to post in the menu that appears.
So that other users do not notice that it is a screenshot, try to adapt the photo as best you can, then tap on Next (top right), apply a filter to it if necessary or edit it using the editing tools made available by Instagram and tap on Next again (top right).
Now all you have to do is write a caption, in which you quote the original author of the content (read the last paragraph of my guide) and tap on Share, to actually perform the repost. Simple, isn’t it?
How do you repost a post on your Instagram story using apps
If you want to use an app to repost the posts, I recommend the app Repost: a completely free solution, available for both Android and iOS. It is very easy to use: just copy the link of the post you want to repost on your profile, give it to the app and publish it on the photo social network.
While you are waiting for the download of Repost: For Instagram, launch Instagram on your devie, find the content you’re interested in, click on the (…) symbol in the top right corner of the same and select Copy link from the menu that opens.
Launch Repost: For Instagram (if downloaded) and click on the image or preview of the video whose link you have previously copied.
