That sounds crazy, doesn’t it? I am not sure I am even able to fathom such a huge number. The official guide to learn how to repost an Instagram post
Before we move on with this article that will teach you every secret to learn when it comes to how to repost an instagram post, allow me to clarify a few things. I promise I won’t be as loquacious as I usually am (well, I mean, at least I’ll try not to be), but I do want to point out some things that maybe you didn’t consider.
Because I like to be helpful to as many people as possible, in this guide I will be teaching you both how to repost an Instagram post on your profile and how to repost an Instagram post to your story. These two features, however, have a fundamental difference: if you learn how to repost an Instagram post to story, you will be able to repost somebody else’s content on your story by specifically showing their name and, thus, giving the person credit for their work/content.
If, on the other hand, you decide that you like a post so much that you really want it to be part of your feed and appear together with every other photo and video on your Instagram account, chances are you won’t specifically be showing the name of the author of the post you are reposting. And, of course, this is not really nice.
There are a few things that we need to point out before we learn how to repost an Instagram post…
Imagine if someone else saw a very a beautiful photo on your Instagram account and decided they like it so much that they want it to appear on their profile, as well. So, what do they do? They repost it (either manually or using the trick that I will teach you in a few minutes) and add a very cute caption so their post can get as many likes as possible.
And what happens to you, the original author of the photo or video? Nobody knows nor acknowledges you!
This would make you really mad, wouldn’t it? Well, just like you wouldn’t want this to happen to you, I’m sure that you also don’t want other people to be mad because you stole their work.
So, what is the point of everything I am saying? Well, my point is really simple: you may of course learn how to repost an Instagram post and how to repost an Instagram post on your story, but it’s very important that you don’t take the credit (nor the merit!) for somebody else’s work.
Of course, if you repost the post on your story, it will be easier for your followers to notice that the post isn’t originally yours. If you decide to repost it on your feed, on the other hand, nobody might actually realize that the post isn’t originally yours unless you specifically state otherwise.
I know you’re eager to learn how to repost an Instagram post to story, but I want you to agree to one thing first!
So, let’s agree to something here, before we move on: I will now teach you everything I know about how to repost an Instagram post and how to repost an Instagram post to story, but you’ll have to promise me that you won’t use this feature to steal other people’s content, photos or videos.

As you probably can imagine, the screenshot and repost tactic is actually pretty easy, and I don’t think it requires any special effort. Yet, what if it is a video that you want to repost on your feed? I mean, it’s not like you could take a screenshot of the video – or better: you could indeed take a snap of the video using the “screen capture” feature on your phone, but this is not the best idea nor the best way to learn how to repost an Instagram post on your story on your feed.
I believe that the best way to repost a photo (and especially a video) to your feed is by using Buffer, an incredibly useful app for every Instagrammer which allows you to manage your account and your feed in ways you could only have imagined before.
So, of course, the first thing that you have to do is download the app Buffer from your app store. The app is compatible with both Apple and Android, so don’t worry about any possible compatibility issues.
Once you download the app, open up Instagram and find the photo, video or post you would like to share. The next thing you’ll have to do is copy the link of this post. To do so, click on the three little dots that you see right above the post, on the right side of the author’s name. Then, click on “Share with” and, once another menu opens up, select “copy link”.
You are about to learn how to repost an Instagram post on your story!
Now that you copied the link of the post, open up Buffer. Chances are the app will automatically recognize that you just copied an Instagram link, and will ask you whether you’d like to repost the photo or video in a new post.
One nice thing to point out here is the fact the Buffer will already give you a “pre-made” caption to attach to your Instagram post, one that will of course include the name of the original author of the post!
You are, of course, free to change and edit the caption however you want. Once you are ready, you will also be able to select the account in which you would like this content to be posted (in case you have more than one account) and then… nothing else, that’s it! You can decide if you want to post your photo or video right now or if you’d rather schedule a time for your post, but that’s it, essentially!
This is how to repost an Instagram post. Whether manually, with a good, old-fashioned screenshot, or in a fancier way – with Buffer – you always have a way to let everybody know how much you enjoyed an Instagram post by sharing it!
